Experience. Integrity. Vision.

What Makes Me The Best Candidate

  1. I Have a Proven Record

“I have spent years serving this community on City Council and now as Mayor. I understand how government works, and I have the experience to keep Versailles moving forward.”

  2. I Believe in Listening First

“I have always believed the best decisions come from listening - to residents, business owners, city staff and community partners. Government works best when everyone has a voice.”

  3. I Plan for the Future

“I supported taking time to study major projects before making permanent decisions because once a decision is made, we all live with the consequences. Good planning protects our future.”

  4. I Support Responsible Growth

“I want Versailles to grow - but in a way that strengthens our community, protect our neighborhoods, preserves the character that makes people proud to call this city home.”

  5. I Respect Your Tax Dollars

“I have worked to pursue grants and outside funding whenever possible because every dollar we bring in from outside is a dollar we don’t have to ask local taxpayers to provide.”

  6. I’ll Continue to Lead with Integrity

“My commitment has always been simple: be honest, be transparent, treat people with respect, and make every decision based on what’s best for Versailles - not what’s best politically.”

Why Experience Matters

Three of my opponents have no city government experience. They seem to be under the impression that experience doesn’t matter.

No matter the profession, you wouldn’t expect anyone to do your job well on day one with no training and no experience.

It’s like needing an electrician at home. You could hire the person with ten years of experience, or you could hire someone with no training and no experience but plenty of self-confidence that they will figure it out as they go…

…hopefully…

…probably…

…maybe….

My other opponent has city government experience, but governed during a different time. We need to move forward, not backward. He also accepts considerable contributions from developers. I have accepted no contributions from developers.

As mayor, I manage 120+ employees and a budget of over $25 million. After 8 years on City Council and 2 years as mayor, I am fully prepared to help move Versailles forward.

Finally, so you understand my positions:

I advocated for no data centers in Woodford County.

I am not in favor of the Northwest Mobility Corridor (bypass).

I fought against the Backer 2 development (across from Frontier Nursing), successfully arguing in 2019 that it was against the Comp Plan. The council agreed 6-0. The developer then sued the city, and in 2022, Fred Siegelman (while I was out of town) called an executive session and convinced the council to overturn the 2019 decision. They did 4-1. In late 2026, the development’s site plan is before the Planning Commission, bringing 522 housing units and highway business.
